Case histories

The 2002 National Stem Cell debate – managing media prior to and during the Parliamentary and Senate debates in 2002 into stem cell legislation. This required extensive education of the media, the writing and placement of opinion pieces by key international players (such as UK Chief Scientist, Bob May) in national newspapers and the placement of stories in weekend magazines (including a cover story in The Weekend Australian magazine).

National Science Week (from 2002 to current) – this involves the management of talent and media (from local press to national magazines, TV and radio) with the sole purpose of flooding the media with science during National Science Week.

AusBiotech – the writing of numerous opinion pieces and the placement of key stories to assist in the lobbying of government regarding biotechnology issues as well as managing the national and international media associated with AusBiotech’s annual conferences.

BIO (2001-2005) – the management of media both in Australia and the US to coincide with the visit of the Victorian delegation to the US meetings. These delegations were headed by the Victorian Premier and Treasurer and have resulted in press conferences in New York, Washington etc – with extensive coverage in the international press including the Wall Street Journal, CNN, USA Today etc.

BIO 2008 – the management of media for the NSW and Federal Government delegations. Coverage included extensive Australian media hits including The Age, The Australian Financial Review, The Australian, Channel Nine news, radio etc.
